A SEMINAR SERIES ON TECHNICAL AND MARKETING INFORMATION FOR EXPORTING AND IMPORTING COMPANIES

Produced by

J. B. Grant & Associates

Success in food exporting and importing is more than having a good idea. It is even more than getting a favorable impression from a foreign buyer or importer. Success is detail. Detail in assessing the foreign market and finding the right niche for your product. Detail in making sure your label is correct. Detail in having your product meet foreign regulations for food additives and pesticide residues. And detail in knowing import procedures and certification requirements.

Often your first "customer" is the regulatory agency of the importing country. Failure to satisfy import regulations means you have no product to sell.

J. B. Grant and Associates has established a seminar series for food processors, exporters, importers, and others who require the technical information needed to succeed in exporting or importing fresh or processed foods worldwide. J. B. Grant and Associates will bring together international marketing and technical experts to explain what you need to know about topics such as market identification, product positioning, regulatory requirements, HACCP and import procedures and certifications. The EXPORT seminars will give you this information in a concise and targeted format that is intended to save you time and help to insure your success.

FDA has ruled that all manufacturers of seafood, both U. S. and foreign, must have a Hazard and Critical Control Points (HACCP) system in place by December, 1997. All manufacturers that supply the United States will have to develop a HACCP plan and train employees in HACCP procedures. In addition, each plant must keep records documenting its HACCP plan, and must continually monitor its product at every stage of the manufacturing process. We can provide this specialized training that is required and assist you through all the steps of HACCP.

Our seminar series can provide you information on market analysis, product positioning and the tools you need to identify international markets for your products. Special emphasis is given to the recognition and development of niche markets for specialty products.

We will also provide you with information in the areas of:

bulletImport procedures and certifications
bulletFood Additive Usage
bulletAllowable Pesticide Residues
bulletMicrobiological Criteria
bulletProduct Labeling and Packaging Requirements

Our seminars can be tailored to your specific needs: Basic concepts and strategies for multiple countries; country specific information for individual target markets; or a combination of both.

Our seminars can also alert you to current trade issues affecting specific countries and provide information on public agency resources available to you.

Depending upon your needs and requirements, EXPORT seminars can be held in any city in the United States and in major market centers throughout the world.

J. B. Grant, President of J. B.
